The Faculty of Law at Western University is in an exciting period of faculty renewal and growth. The Faculty invites applications for Probationary (tenure track) appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor or Tenured appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. Candidates may also be considered for Limited Term appointment, with rank to be determined by qualifications and experience.
The Faculty welcomes applications in all areas of law. Without limiting the call for applications, the Faculty notes a particular interest in applications in the areas of criminal law, environmental law, property and intellectual property law, public law, and taxation. Applicants must have a JD, LLB, or equivalent degree, as well as a relevant advanced graduate degree or its equivalent.
Candidates considered for a Probationary (tenure-track) appointment must have a superior academic record and a demonstrated record of, or demonstrated potential for, excellence in scholarly research and teaching. In addition, they should have the ability and willingness to contribute to the intellectual and scholarly life of the Faculty community and to the University more generally. Candidates considered for an appointment with Tenure must have an outstanding academic record with a strong record of academic publications and significant teaching experience. Limited Term candidates should have some advanced education in law or a significant record of successful legal practice, writing, and leadership. Successful applicants will be expected to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate law students, establish a highly productive research program, and provide leadership in the Faculty of Law.

• a cover letter identifying their areas of interest in research and teaching, and their experience with and commitment to institutional service;
• a detailed curriculum vitae;
• a copy of JD, LLB, and graduate transcripts for all degrees obtained since 2012;
• a research agenda (discussing prior and prospective research);
• a teaching statement (discussing teaching philosophy, teaching interests, and teaching experience (if applicable)); and
• two sample publications (or other writing samples).

Review of applications will begin on September 16, 2019, and will continue until the positions are filled. The appointments are expected to commence July 1, 2020, although alternative starting dates may be arranged.
