Glendon College is a Faculty of York University. Its unique mission is to provide a world- class liberal arts education within a bilingual (English and French) framework. Through funding from the Ontario government, Glendon College is the Southern Ontario Centre of Excellence for French-Language and Bilingual Post-secondary Education. It currently offers undergraduate and graduate programs and certificates in a range of subject areas in the human and social sciences, education, languages and translation, business and economics, government and public policy, and sciences. Glendon College's campus is home to 2,400 students, who also have access to a wide range of courses at all levels at York's Keele campus. York University is seeking a dynamic and creative Principal to lead Glendon College, the University's bilingual Faculty. The Principal will work closely with the Francophone community and the government to play a significant role at the provincial and national levels in championing Glendon College within the multicultural Canadian educational context and, more specifically, within the province of Ontario. The Principal will be fluent in French and English, and will have outstanding academic qualifications, as well as administrative and leadership experience.
The appointment is for a five-year term, with a target commencement date on 1 January 2021. Consideration of candidates will begin in spring of 2020 and will continue until the position is filled.
