Assistant Professor, Nursing

University of New Brunswick

The Faculty of Nursing at the University of New Brunswick invites applications from qualified individuals for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor at the Moncton site. The position involves classroom. clinical and laboratory teaching responsibilities in the undergraduate and graduate programs, and a program of research and service. We are interested in individuals who have a proven track record in research and teaching (classroom and clinical).Preference will be given for candidates with a background of mental health.

All UNB sites share a common curriculum based on principles of primary health care, caring and social justice. Foundational to the curriculum are five abilities that are considered essential to working successfully in a primary health care environment. Outcomes for theory and clinical courses are intentionally designed and leveled across the program to ensure that graduates have developed the five requisite abilities. The Master of Nursing Program has two streams; a thesis/research-based stream and a Nurse Practitioner steam.

Qualifications: The successful candidate must hold an earned PhD, one graduate degree must be in nursing, and be registered or eligible to obtain registration with the Nurse's Association of New Brunswick and obtain registration prior to appointment. A completed PhD is preferred however, individuals who are close to completing a PhD are encouraged to inquire prior to submitting an application. A record of or a potential for excellence in teaching and evidence of an stablished program of scholarships are assets.

This position will begin January 2, 2020 dependent on availability of a successful applicant and subject to final budgetary approval.
