Director, School of Dental Hygiene

Dalhousie University

The School of Dental Hygiene, Faculty of Dentistry, is seeking applications for a five-year appointment, as Director of the School. This appointment will commence July 1, 2019.

The minimum education requirement is a Master’s Degree. Candidates are expected to have considerable didactic and clinical teaching experience with dental hygiene students; some administrative background and experience would be considered an asset. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications, experience and achievements. Candidates must have or be eligible for a license to practice dental hygiene in Nova Scotia.

Responsibilities will include providing collaborative leadership for the school; ensuring the administration of dental hygiene programs; promoting excellence in education; and positively representing the School to bodies/organizations/agencies both internal and external to the University. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator who is committed to the success of all students, faculty and staff. The term for the Director position is 5 years with the possibility of renewal, and the successful candidate will also receive an academic appointment appropriate for their qualifications.
