CAFA is seeking an Executive Director
The Confederation of Alberta Faculty Associations (CAFA) http://cafa-ab.ca is a longstanding provincial stakeholder comprised of the Association of Academic Staff University of Alberta, the Athabasca University Faculty Association, the Faculty Association of the University of Calgary and the University of Lethbridge Faculty Association. CAFA’s objectives are to support the interests of its member associations and to advocate for quality university teaching and research in Alberta.
The ED is the chief administrative officer of the Confederation and is responsible for the staffing and performance of the CAFA office, which is located in Edmonton.
The successful candidate for this position will have a broad understanding of post-secondary policy issues, particularly as they affect the work of academic staff at Alberta universities, as well as experience in government relations and non-profit advocacy work, knowledge of labour relations in the post-secondary sector, and proven communication and leadership skills.
The ability to work independently and collaboratively is essential. An advanced degree, or equivalent academic qualification, would be an asset.
