Job Summary/Basic Function: Instructors in the BCIT Communication Department teach writing skills and presentation skills. We teach in over 40 programs at BCIT, from Marketing, to Medical Radiography, to International Business Management. Depending on the program, we teach students to write emails, reports, proposals, or technical manuals. In some programs, we may teach oral presentations skills or teamwork skills. We also offer English language support classes.

We are currently seeking temporary, full-time instructors. The ideal candidate is passionate about student success: analyzing student needs, developing relevant materials, providing high quality classes, and providing appropriate student feedback. Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree: Applied Linguistics, Communication, Education, English, or other relevant discipline.
Teaching experience.

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WITH ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING
Post-secondary teaching experience.
Corporate training experience.
PhD.
Academic research and publications.
ESL experience and certification.
Professional Communication Experience: Technical writer, communications consultant, public- relations consultant, etc.
Other industry experience.
Other relevant training: Myer's Briggs, Negotiation Skills, Conflict Management, Coaching, Project Management, etc.

All successful candidates must be able to teach Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Closing Date: 12-07-2018

Salary Range: $52,645 to $92,214 per annum. Prorated based on term of appointment
