Instructor, Instructor II/Senior Instructor, Division of Prosthodontics/General Dentistry

Applications are invited for a full-time Instructor, Instructor II or Senior Instructor in the Division of Prosthodontics or General Dentistry at the University of Manitoba, College of Dentistry, Department of Restorative Dentistry. The ideal candidate will have experience and ability in preclinical and clinical teaching and supervision of dentistry students; rank and salary are dependent upon qualifications and experience. The appointment will commence on January 1, 2020 or as soon thereafter as possible and is for a three-year term.

The College of Dentistry has invested in staff, equipment, and facilities at unprecedented levels in order to capitalize on new methods for educating students, residents, and practicing dentists. Primary responsibilities include didactic and pre-clinical instruction in the undergraduate program. Duties include development of curriculum in a lecture and pre-clinic format following the Association of Canadian Faculties of Dentistry competencies, expansion of our computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing systems program, Extramural private practice privilege is available one day per week upon signing of a Practice Agreement.

The successful applicant must have a DDS/DMD degree or equivalent. Preference may be given to individuals who have a certificate of Prosthodontics specialty from an accredited postgraduate prosthodontics program or demonstrate a strong interest in that field. Demonstrated practice experience and an established record in University teaching by the time of hire as well as a Master’s or PhD degree would be an asset. Eligibility for licensure in the Province of Manitoba and to be either Board Certified in Canada (NDEB), see www.ndeb.ca or be a Fellow in the Royal College of Dentists of Canada see www.rcdc.ca would be an asset.
