Assistant Professor (Musculoskeletal Anatomy), Kinesiology

Brock University

The Faculty of Applied Health Sciences and Department of Kinesiology are pleased to invite applications, from qualified individuals, for a full-time, probationary tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Musculoskeletal Anatomy effective January 1, 2019.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will bring a record of achievement commensurate with an Assistant Professor position, having earned a PhD in Kinesiology with a particular focus on Musculoskeletal Anatomy. Post-doctoral training will be considered an asset. Candidates must demonstrate strong potential for outstanding teaching contributions. He/she will have a demonstrated ability to provide high quality curriculum and teach a variety of undergraduate courses in musculoskeletal anatomy, musculoskeletal biomechanics, movement disorders, clinical mechanics and kinesiology. Excellent communication skills, a willingness to work collegially, and a desire to play an integral role in the growth, development and identity of the Faculty are all essential.

The candidate must compliment our existing research strengths in neuromechanics, biomechanics, physical ergonomics, environmental ergonomics, physiology and motor learning. The position offers widespread opportunities to perform collaborative research to better understand, prevent and/or treat workplace and movement related injury.

Applicants should possess a strong academic background and have an established record of excellence in innovative and scholarly research leading to peer reviewed publications. Demonstrated potential for securing external funding through national agencies such as CIHR, NSERC, Ministry of Labour and other related agencies. The candidate will demonstrate potential to become a leader in their research field with a clear plan for significant contribution to the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences in high-quality undergraduate and graduate teaching, graduate student supervision and mentorship, training of postdoctoral fellows, and service.
