Limited Term Faculty Position in Spanish Language and Hispanic Culture

Western University

The Department of Languages and Cultures invites applications for a Limited Term faculty position (10 months) at the rank of Assistant Professor. The individual is expected to have attained the PhD in Spanish prior to the start date of the appointment. The candidate will have a solid expertise in teaching Spanish language sequence courses and Hispanic culture courses. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish is required.

Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate courses such as Advanced Spanish Language and Special topics courses in Hispanic Culture and the coordination of the undergraduate language Spanish program. Participation in service to the Department and the Faculty is also required. This position will start September 1st, 2021 or as negotiated and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Department of Languages and Cultures (https://www.uwo.ca/languages/ ) is a vibrant and diverse community of professors and students coming from different parts of the World, and hosts Master and PhD programs in Comparative Literature and Hispanic Studies (Cultures and Literatures and Spanish Linguistics), and the Culture Plex Lab, a high specialized laboratory in Digital Humanities research. With scholars with International recognition, our faculty is also highly engaged in a variety of undergraduate programs on Italian, Spanish, and German studies, and Intercultural Communications.
