Tenure Track Position - Assistant Professor Level, Health Policy and Management

McMaster University

The DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor rank in the Area of Health Policy and Management. The appointment is intended to commence July 1, 2019 although earlier or later appointment dates may be possible.

Candidates will have a PhD in Health Policy and Management, or a related field. Candidates will have demonstrated the ability to teach a broad range of courses from a health care management perspective. Specific teaching needs include communications, managing quality and mixed methods research, all at the graduate level. In addition, candidates must have extensive experience delivering course content in online and blended learning environments.

Candidates will have demonstrated competency in research initiatives and outcomes, including peer-reviewed journal publications, conference presentations, and securement of grants. Evidence of excellence in teaching is also required as well as the potential to make contributions to teaching and supervision in our PhD program, our undergraduate, MBA and MHM programs as well as the School’s professionally oriented executive development programs.

The DeGroote School of Business provides a strong, supportive and collegial research culture, building the research capacity of faculty and graduate students. We believe in experiential learning: complementing classroom studies with hands-on experience. We are one of six faculties at McMaster University and the School has over 2,300 undergraduate students, 600 MBAs, 60 PhDs and 70 full time faculty. DeGroote hosts three research centers and a number of Research Chairs. We operate on two campuses, the McMaster University main campus in Hamilton, Ontario and a new state-of-the-art facility, the Ron Joyce Centre, in nearby Burlington, Ontario, housing the MBA and executive programs. The successful candidate is expected to be able to work at both locations.
