Term Instructor in Anthropology

University of Winnipeg

The Department of Anthropology at The University of Winnipeg invites applications for a one-year term position in anthropology at the rank of Instructor. Subject to budgetary approval, this position will commence August 1, 2022. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The selected candidate will join the Department of Anthropology, which has eight regular faculty members. Further information about the department, including descriptions of courses offered, is available at https://www.uwinnipeg.ca/anthropology/.

Candidates must hold, at a minimum, a Master’s degree in Anthropology or a related discipline, and have a record of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level. The successful candidate will teach a combination of four-field and sub-field specific courses at the introductory level that may include: ANTH-1001(6) Introductory Anthropology, ANTH-1002(3) Introduction to Cultural Anthropology and Linguistics, ANTH-1003(3) Introduction to Bioanthropology and Archaeology. The successful candidate may also teach upper level courses in their area of expertise.

The successful candidate will participate in departmental and university service. We are particularly interested in candidates who will contribute to the department’s commitment to four-field anthropology, experiential learning, supporting student research, Indigenization, and public anthropology.
