The Department of Family Medicine, Master Physician Assistant Studies invites applications for a full-time Simulation Lead appointment at the rank of Instructor I, Instructor II or Senior Instructor, commencing July 15, 2026, or on a mutually agreed upon date. Salary and rank (if applicable) will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The Simulation Lead for the Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) program is a core Faculty member and is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of simulation-based education across the MPAS curriculum. This includes leading Patient Assessment I (PAEP 7052), Patient Assessment II (PAEP 7054), and Patient Assessment III (PAEP 7056), Procedures, as well as integrating simulation-based learning in Year 1 and Year 2 of the program and other activities as assigned. The Simulation Lead collaborates with the MPAS Program Director, MPAS Medical Director, and MPAS Faculty to ensure alignment with Accreditation Canada EQual Standards and CanMEDS-PA/EPA-PA competencies.
The Simulation Lead also advances simulation-based quality improvement and scholarship initiatives while supporting faculty development in simulation pedagogy. This role actively participates in program committees, including the Academic and Clinical Working Group, Progress Committee, Admissions Committee, and Curriculum Committee.

Qualifications
- Current national certification (Canadian/American) as a Physician Assistant.
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies,
- Additional training or experience in Medical Education, Simulation, or related fields would be an asset
- Manitoba PA licensure (or eligibility) and registration with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba.
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience; generalist scope of practice is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, including clinical or classroom teaching
- Experience with assessment of physician assistant clinical skills and competencies
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
