Lakehead University, Thunder Bay Campus, invites applications for a tenure-track Teaching Focused Faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor to primarily teach in the area of Mechatronics Engineering. The position will commence on July 1, 2025, or as soon as it is filled.
The Department currently offers undergraduate and graduate programs at all levels in Mechanical Engineering and B.Eng. program in Mechatronics Engineering with commitments to expand is graduate program offerings to all areas under Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering. The department strives for excellence in teaching, research and innovation in interdisciplinary teaching and research. With a new STEM hub in Barrie, Ontario, its poised to expand its pioneering Technology and Engineering integrated education opportunities for both High Schools and Technology Diploma transfer students.
The successful candidate must have a PhD in Mechatronics Engineering or a closely related field and must be registered as a P.Eng. in Ontario or must be able to register as P.Eng. very soon prior to taking on the teaching commitments.
