The McGill University Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, Division of Anatomical Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is inviting applications for a full-time position as a member of the Contract Academic Staff at the rank of Faculty Lecturer. This will be a three-year, renewable appointment and does not confer eligibility for tenure.

Job Duties
The successful candidate will coordinate and teach human anatomy lectures and laboratory demonstrations (i.e., dissection and prosection-based). They will generate and supervise the production of prosected cadaveric specimens (e.g., pre-dissected specimens) and assist in developing and generating pedagogical resources for McGill anatomy courses and external/professional development workshops). They will participate in committees and other service roles while involved in discussing best teaching practices within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and the University.

Other tasks may include the following:
• Coordinating and instructing extracurricular cadaveric laboratory-based teaching across multiple health professional programs;
• Supervising students in medical and health sciences education research and/or anatomical sciences research and;
• Assisting with the coordination and teaching of external/professional development workshops.


Qualifications and Education Requirements
The incumbent must have a strong background in human anatomy and cadaveric dissection. They should have experience in coordinating and teaching lectures in anatomical sciences, and supervising laboratory demonstrations and dissections in health professional and health science programs, as well as supervising students in medical and health sciences education research and/or anatomical sciences research.

Candidates must have:
• PhD in Anatomy (or equivalent);
• Demonstrated ability to teach human anatomy in the laboratory using human cadavers and cadaveric prosections;
• Demonstrated dissection skills and ability to guide students in full-body dissection laboratories;
• Demonstrated ability to teach all of the basic anatomical sciences (gross anatomy, histology, embryology, and neuroanatomy) is an asset;
• Demonstrated organizational skills, and proven ability to work in a team.

McGill University is an English-language university where most teaching and research activities are conducted in the English language, thereby requiring English communication both verbally and in writing. French communication skills (verbal) are an asset.
