The Faculty of Health Sciences has an opening for one full-time probationary Instructor position in our Public Health Program. This is a teaching position and candidates should be prepared to teach a variety of courses in public health. Ability to teach in several of the following areas will be required: environmental health, epidemiology, health policy, Indigenous health, infectious diseases, and program planning and evaluation. Duties will also include the supervision of public health practicum placements.

The Faculty has a dynamic and collaborative teaching and research culture. The Public Health degree prepares students for employment within a growing multidisciplinary field of public health practice and graduate studies. The program is unique in Alberta and supports provincial and national goals to promote wellness and population health, and to develop knowledge and skills in the core competencies for public health. The position will commence July 1, 2021.


A Master's degree (preferably in public health, or a public health specialization/discipline), and/or a PhD in a Public Health discipline (or near completion).

Academic Setting

The Faculty of Health Sciences currently offers undergraduate and graduate education. Undergraduate programs include Aboriginal Health, Addictions Counselling, Nursing, Public Health, and Therapeutic Recreation. We now also offer a Masters of Health Sciences with a specialization in Public Health.
