Lecturer - Spanish

University of British Columbia Okanagan

The Department of Languages and World Literatures at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan Campus invites applications for a full-time one-year Lecturer appointment in Spanish, commencing September 1, 2025.

Lecturer positions are appointments without review (i.e., non-tenure track) with the possibility of renewal for successive terms, subject to availability of funding and demonstration of teaching ability, in accordance with the Collective Agreement between UBC and the UBC Faculty Association.

Preference will be given to applicants with a PhD in the field and with experience teaching at the post-secondary level. Teaching will consist of eight sections per year, with one or two sections taught in the summer terms. The successful candidate will be expected to teach language and other courses at all levels.

In addition to teaching, the candidate will also be responsible for some administrative duties, including regular attendance at meetings and participation in the activities of the program, as well as

- Assistance with curriculum review and design of courses
- Assistance with TA recruitment
- Committee work, as determined by the Head

Salary: $80,296 per year. All positions are subject to funding.
