The Department of Psychology at Carleton University invites applications from qualified candidates for a limited-term appointment in Developmental Psychology at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2026.

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research on issues related to Developmental Psychology, teach both at the undergraduate and graduate level, and supervise undergraduate Honours theses. The Department is open to all specializations within the area.

About the Academic Unit
The Department of Psychology is committed to excellence in teaching and research across five research areas: health, personality/social, Developmental, developmental, and cognitive. The Department of Psychology currently offers undergraduate programs in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, as well as the Faculty of Science. Graduate programs in Psychology are offered at the master's and doctoral level. Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. (ABDs also will be considered) in Psychology and have demonstrated excellence in research and teaching and possess a strong commitment to scholarship, as reflected in publications in the area of Developmental Psychology. The successful candidate will have a high quality research program; will be committed to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level; and will contribute effectively to the academic life of the Department.
