Spanish Instructor I

The Department of French, Spanish and Italian (FSI) invites applications for a non-renewable term position of two (2) years at the rank of Instructor I in Spanish with a specialization in foreign language teaching, Spanish and/or Latin American literatures and cultures, commencing on January 1st, 2027. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The Department seeks an emerging scholar with a commitment to excellence in teaching and pedagogical development. Exceptional candidates at any rank will be considered. Preference will be given to those with teaching experience and a Ph.D. (preferred), M.A., or other distinguishing attributes in Spanish language, Spanish and/or Latin American literatures and cultures, with native or near native fluency in Spanish, as well as a good command of English. Duties may include undergraduate teaching, including live lecture, on-line and distance delivery formats, pedagogical/course development and assessment, and service-related activities. The successful candidate will have a track record of outstanding teaching contributions and course development and will exhibit evidence of the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
The Department currently has 5 full-time tenured and tenure track faculty members and 3 Instructors and offers a full range of both undergraduate and graduate programs in French, Spanish and Italian.
