The Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for a full-time probationary position at the rank of Instructor I, commencing January 1, 2027, or on a mutually agreed upon date. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The Department seeks a new colleague with a commitment to excellence in teaching, pedagogical development, and contributing to a diverse learning environment. Outstanding candidates in any area of human and/or comparative anatomy and/or physiology will be considered, with particular emphasis on candidates who will complement or extend the department’s strengths. Preference will be given to those with teaching experience and either a Ph.D. or a thesis-based Master’s degree. Duties include undergraduate teaching in large enrollment first year human anatomy and physiology lectures (>200 students) and laboratories, pedagogical/course development and assessment, and service-related activities. Additional duties may include on-line and distance delivery formats and course coordination. The successful candidate will have a track record of evidence-based teaching and/or course development, fostering an inclusive learning environment, and will exhibit evidence of the ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team.

The Department currently has 29 full-time tenured and tenure track faculty members and 10 Instructors and offers a full range of both undergraduate and graduate programs in Biological Sciences. The Department has a well-established and equipped research facility including infrastructure available for teaching and is supported by strong links with other University of Manitoba departments such as Microbiology, Statistics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.
