Probationary Assistant Professor in Databases

The Department of Applied Computer Science at The University of Winnipeg invites applications for a probationary appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, in accordance with the University of Winnipeg Faculty Association Collective Agreement (2020-2027). Subject to budgetary approval, the date of appointment is anticipated to be January 1, 2027.
Applicants are expected to hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related discipline. Postdoctoral or equivalent experience is considered an asset. The successful candidate will have a strong research record, dedication to collegial practice and service, and a demonstrated commitment to excellent and innovative teaching and mentorship with expertise to teach undergraduate and graduate Applied Computer Science courses. Experience in teaching university courses in Databases, Software Engineering, and Data Structures and Algorithms is an asset. Experience teaching students from diverse academic backgrounds is also an asset. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong potential to develop an externally-funded research program in Databases, Software Engineering, or other Computer Science areas that will augment the Department's existing research expertise.
