SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK LIMITED TERM APPOINTMENT POSITIONS (ENGLISH PROGRAMS)

Université Laurentienne

Preferred candidates will have a minimum of a Master of Social Work (MSW). Successful candidates will have a record of scholarly activity and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and communities.

The successful candidates will have the following essential qualifications:
• Show evidence of scholarly and teaching expertise in some of the following areas: direct practice; social work knowledge, theory, and ethics; gerontology; substance use; practice with Francophone and newcomer populations; people with disabilities; anti-racism/anti-oppressive practice; Indigenous social work research and practice; and social work practice with 2SLGBTQ+ communities.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels (campus and/or on-line) in English;
• Experience working collaboratively in a team environment;
• Clear commitment to pedagogical and academic excellence, promoting a safe, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment, and advancing Laurentian University’s bilingual and tricultural mandates;
• An ability and willingness to engage in dismantling anti-Indigenous and anti-Black racism and other oppressive practices that lead to social and health inequities.

In addition to active engagement and participation in teaching, the incumbents will be expected to have an on-campus presence in Sudbury and make contributions through service to the School, Faculty, University, and broader community.
