The School of Accounting and Finance in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Waterloo invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in Finance with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2027. In the case of an exceptional candidate, appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor with tenure may be considered.

Candidates must have a doctoral degree in finance or financial economics by the start date of the appointment. We are seeking candidates who have research expertise in empirical finance. The successful candidate will have demonstrated an excellent record of (or potential for) both publishing research in high-quality journals and high-quality teaching. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, contributing to the service needs of the School of Accounting and Finance, and developing and directing research, education, and practice-relevant thought leadership. Candidates should be comfortable teaching quantitative, computational, and/or technology-focused finance courses in our Accounting and Financial Management and Computing and Financial Management programs.

Starting compensation in the range of $240,000.00 to $270,000.00 is anticipated, based on qualifications and experience. Negotiations beyond this range may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.
