ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching in both the M.Ed. and B.Ed. programs and will be the program’s inaugural M.Ed. Graduate Program Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have a research and funding record consistent with the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor and experience teaching in Higher Education. The Faculty of Education at St. Mary’s comprises a small, collaborative faculty and staff. With a strong record of educational excellence, we offer two-year after-degree elementary and secondary Bachelor of Education programs and a Master of Education with a Specialization in Catholic Education Leadership.
Main responsibilities for this position will include:
• The successful candidate will be hired into the Research-Service stream and will be the inaugural M.Ed. Coordinator of the University’s new Master of Education with a Specialization in Catholic Education Leadership.
• The teaching workload will be four courses per academic year. The M.Ed. program is synchronous, online and teaching will be carried out evenings from September-June and daytime during the summer session. The Collective Agreement provides for one non-teaching semester per year.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Ph.D or Ed.D in Educational Leadership by date of appointment.
• B.Ed. or equivalent K-12 experience.
• Demonstrated post-secondary teaching excellence in Educational Leadership.
• An active program of research in Educational Leadership with a record of funding and publication commensurate with the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
• Ability to effectively work with, and support, prospective and current graduate students and serve as the program link with faculty and other university service units.
• Ability to communicate effectively, collaborate, innovate, and foster an inclusive and respectful environment.
• Ability to promote, or at least respect, the institution’s Catholic mission and identity.
• Ability to promote equity, diversity, inclusion, and Truth and Reconciliation.
