Description

This position is part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).

Location - This role is in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.

The anticipated start date is July 1, 2026.
Responsibilities
• Teach accounting courses in undergraduate and graduate programs.
• Conducting and publishing research in top tier accounting journals.
• Service to the School’s academic activities.
• Play an active role in success and development in PhD program.
Qualifications
• Candidates must have, or be close to completing, a PhD in an Accounting field.
• Must demonstrate potential to publish top-level research and achieve teaching excellence.
• Must possess an excellent record or strong potential for publication in top (FT) Accounting journals.
• Should have empirical capability to conduct Archival or Behavioral research.
• Must provide evidence of teaching excellence.
• Consideration will be given to applicants who:
• Have demonstrated the impact of their research.
• Show established teaching skills.
• Have a record of service at the departmental, institutional, national, and/or international levels.
• Candidates must have a proven track record of—or interest in—institution building and service, in addition to exceptional scholarship in Accounting.
• Proficiency in English is required.
• A CPA certificate or general managerial experience will be considered an asset.
