Assistant/Associate Professor, Indigenous Business

Athabasca University

Athabasca University's Faculty of Business is currently recruiting for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor, Indigenous Business.

This competition will remain open until a suitable candidate is found. We will begin reviewing applications on September 1, 2022.

The tenure track faculty member will be expected to teach, coordinate, and revise courses at undergraduate and graduate levels. They will contribute to the ongoing development of the Faculty of Business' academic programs. The candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to conduct and disseminate impactful research in their field.

The Indigenous scholar hired will have subject matter expertise in Indigenous business practice, demonstrate a lived Indigenous experience, an Indigenous/Aboriginal worldview in their contemporary lives, and the ability to counsel, supervise, teach, and support students in the expression of values, integrity, and knowledge as these relate to Indigenous peoples.

- Candidates should have or be working toward completion of a doctorate in business or a relevant related field.
- The candidate requires a combination of demonstrated teaching and research potential.
- The candidate will have lived Indigenous experience and worldview.
- Additional expertise in areas related to organizational behaviour, leadership, economics, or finance would be beneficial.
- The candidate will be expected to contribute to a collegial culture.
- An interest in and commitment to teaching and working in an online environment.

As Canada's national open and online university, AU shapes and enables mutually supportive communities, regardless of where those -communities exist through its Imagine and Nukskahtowin plans. While the successful candidate may choose to live and work in their home - - community, some travel for face-to-face teaching will be required.

Please note the salary range differs between an Assistant and Associate Professor as outlined below:

Assistant Professor Salary Range: $71,506.00 - $100,202.00

Associate Professor Salary Range: $94,249.00 - $124,157.00
