Chief of Critical Care Program

McGill University Health Centre

The McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) is searching for an academic physician to lead the clinical, educational, research and innovation activities of its Critical Care Program. This program encompasses the critical care activities at the MGH site and the RVH adult site of the MUHC.

As Chief of the Critical Care Program (CCP), the successful applicant will be responsible for the planning, organization, and quality improvement initiatives of the CCP. In addition to providing leadership in the delivery of excellent clinical services at the MUHC, the successful applicant will be expected to strongly support the academic mission or the CCP through research and educational initiatives. The successful candidate is expected to provide leadership in the recruitment, development and mentoring of diverse faculty to allow them to achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability in organizing collaborative clinical and academic work between different departments and inter-professional colleagues. As well, the new chief will be expected to engage with external parties at the provincial level as well as other partners within the McGill network to advocate for the coordination of critical care services.

The successful candidate is expected to:
• Have managerial experience in a tertiary care clinical setting; in particular be comfortable in a co-management model.
• Be licensed or eligible for licensure in the province of Quebec
• Have some knowledge of the Quebec health care system and have strong French-language skills as these would be considered major assets.
