We have a strong connection to the community, including business, and work collaboratively to meet local needs and contribute to solving local issues.
MacEwan serves a diversity of learners - 18,925 full- and part-time students are enrolled in 52 programs in business, communications, health and human services, humanities and social sciences, music, nursing, physical sciences, and theatre. Our innovative approaches to program delivery are designed to maximize graduates’ opportunities to advance their careers and further their education. Our students can choose from undergraduate degrees, certificates, diplomas and degree-transfer programs, facilitating bridging to or from degree programs. This is one of the many features that sets us apart and provides students with diverse pathways to achievement and growth.
The President and Vice-Chancellor is the Chief Executive Officer of MacEwan University and is accountable to the Board of Governors for providing inclusive and strategic leadership and working with the university community and its many stakeholders to refine and achieve the university’s strategic goals.
As President and Vice-Chancellor, you will be expected to build upon MacEwan’s strengths as a learner-centered undergraduate teaching institution that provides students diverse pathways to achievement and growth, and to administer the strategic leadership needed to chart and guide its future trajectory. As the President you will deliver a vision that builds on MacEwan’s positive reputation as a student-centered university, and remain committed to student-focused undergraduate and continuing education. As a respected leader you provide balanced leadership to be internally visible and externally engaging, and you bring credibility, understanding and an appreciation for the academic environment. You will play a central role in building and advancing partnerships with community, government, and alumni to secure funding, resources and meaningful partnerships. As we approach celebrating our 50th anniversary in 2021, you are someone who truly champions the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and you will engage, inspire and enable students, faculty, staff, and partners to position MacEwan as a university of choice.
