Tenure-Track Appointment, Assistant Professor in Criminology (Orillia Campus)

Lakehead University’s Department of Interdisciplinary Studies invites applications for one tenure-track appointment in Criminology at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will preferably commence on August 1, 2020, at the Orillia campus.

The Department of Interdisciplinary Studies is located exclusively on the Orillia campus. The Department offers three unique programs of interdisciplinary study, including options for students to Major or Minor in Criminology. The Criminology Program constitutes one of the largest contingents of students on the campus. The Department is composed of faculty members who are dedicated exclusively to Criminology as well as to other interdisciplinary degree programs. The Department is interested in well-rounded candidates who balance empirical research with a commitment to teaching and service. Applicants should have a completed PhD in Criminology or a Criminology-related field by the time of appointment. Candidates with any area of research specialization are welcome to apply. Candidates must: provide evidence of a clearly defined research program; demonstrate a strong commitment to research; and show potential for teaching excellence, including in the areas of quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis. Familiarity and commitment to experiential learning as well as online or alternative modes of course delivery are also desirable candidate qualities.
